Shortly after her sporty-chic Super Bowl Halftime Show performance, Rihanna is re-igniting her Puma collab, Fenty x Puma, and we may have gotten a teaser of the relaunch without even noticing it.
On March 1, the official Puma Instagram account posted a photo reading, “She’s back.” to let fans know that the Rihanna line would return to shelves and online shopping carts. As noted by Vogue, Rihanna has been working with the sportswear brand since 2014, with the most recent Fenty x Puma drop landing way back in 2017. The line was a big deal then, complete with runway shows and mega-popular creeper-style sneakers. (Take a peek at the Puma comments, where fans are begging the brand to bring them back.) Since then, Rihanna has moved on to different projects, including her lingerie and loungewear brands Savage X Fenty and Fenty Beauty.
Puma has not yet shared what we can expect from Rihanna’s return to the brand, nor did it share a release date, but Rihanna’s Super Bowl dancers’ costumes may have been an open hint at what was to come. One dancer, Jazzy Gastineau, revisited the costume on TikTok and revealed that dancers wore white Puma socks and white Puma sneakers alongside their all-white cargo pant ensembles. “There were like four different styles of Pumas [available], but these were the ones I got,” Gastineau said. The shoes in question appear to be the classic Carina style and not a new design, but this had to have been a sneaky reference to the forthcoming Fenty x Puma comeback.
If Rihanna is teasing the collab at a high-profile event like the Super Bowl, that means big, big things must be coming very soon.
